Hurricane Ida Emergency Catch Basin & Pipe Cleaning
District 62, Louisiana
In the immediate aftermath of Hurricane Ida, SEMS was contracted by the State of Louisiana to provide emergency catch basin cleaning and drain cleaning for routes located in District 62. The project takes place along hundreds of miles on various routes located in Denham Springs, Walker, Ponchatoula, Amite, Laplace, Madisonville, Slidell, Covington, Bogalusa and Franklinton. Debris was collected from more than 100 catch basins and disposed of in compliance with all federal, state and local laws and ordinances related to hauling, handling and disposal of materials.
SEMS was responsible for ensuring that the drains flow freely for their entire structure. Work was completed in high speed work zones. SEMS was responsible for all traffic control measures in accordance with the Temporary Traffic Control Standard Plans.
